Creativity and Big Data

Mediacrest, based in Barcelona but with its studios and production company in Madrid, arose from the vision of a series of investment groups for a content producer shaped by the audiovisual market’s new digital panorama. With this perspective in mind, it works in the areas of Entertainment (led by Hugo Tomás), Fiction (Pablo Barrera) and Documentaries (Gerardo Olivares), all highly experienced and renowned professionals. Mediacrest’s work is structured around a set of big data tools focused on entertainment, audiences and content consumption, developed specifically for the company in collaboration with its US partners. It provides metrics, prediction and opportunities to assist the creatives in the development of their ideas and audiovisual marketing.

Since it was founded, little over a year ago, Mediacrest has worked within the ecosystem of firms like Netflix, HBO, Amazon, Viacom, AppleTV, etc., with Josetxu Palenzuela ensuring the company’s relevance on the international scene as its Chief Content Officer and head of International Relations. On the national market, Mediacrest is currently airing the daily show “El Cazador”, the Spanish version of “The Chase”, co-produced with the British television network ITV. Today, the production company is working on projects to the value of around 120 million euros in the area of fiction, entertainment and documentaries.
