Mediacrest production "El Cazador" (adaptation of the ITV format The Chase) won Best Television Game Show yesterday at the 25th edition of the Zapping Awards, awarded by the Association of Audiovisual Media Audiences of Catalonia. These awards are an important indicator of audiences’ recognition for professionals, distributors and creators of quality audiovisual entertainment: television, internet and videogames.

Collecting the award, contest director Estefanía Camarasa stressed that "El Cazador" has earned this award for the Best Game Show within a challenging and incredibly competitive time slot. We are very grateful. "Camarasa dedicated the award to "El Cazador’s" team, ""amazing professionals who, during this difficult time, have demonstrated their enormous sense of responsibility and commitment. Without them, this award would not have been possible."

Mediacrest’s executive director Daniel Domenjó pointed out that this is the first significant award earned by "El Cazador", something that ""we are very excited about. It's an award for the entire "El Cazador" team, the production company, Mediacrest and TVE; all of it exemplifying terrific teamwork by everyone involved."

For his part, Mediacrest’s Head of Entertainment and "El Cazador’s" executive producer, Hugo Tomás, stressed that "we are very grateful to TVE for their support, to Mediacrest for their help and trust, and we are delighted because it’s an award that recognizes our entire team’s amazing effort, dedication and commitment. "El Cazador" is a great show run by tremendous professionals."

After 5 seasons and over 300 broadcasts, "El Cazador", hosted by Ion Aramendi, who was also nominated at yesterday's gala for Best Host, has established itself as the go-to culture, trivia entertainment outlet for weekday afternoons on TVE.
