Conecta Fiction launched its fifth edition yesterday announcing the final selection of nominated projects for its international awards contest being celebrated on-site in Pamplona, Spain.
During the opening ceremony, organizers announced that two Mediacrest productions have been selected for the final awards: "Life," in the Copro series category and "A House on the Beach", in the Short-Form Series category.
Selected for the Pitch Copro Series, "Life" is a fast-paced medical thriller co-produced with White Lion Films and Troisième Œil (Mediawan group). It is a story inspired by a real-life achievement: the day the record for 45 organ transplants in less than 24 hours was broken. A day where every single minute was precious.
Likewise, selected for the Pitch Short-Form Series, "A House on the Beach", is a short psychological horror film; when a teenage couple’s romantic getaway turns into a nightmare, terror lurks within the person you trust the most.
Mediacrest, whose fiction production team is headed by Alberto Macías has also submitted three other projects for this online edition of Conecta Fiction: "Humanity," "Fake" and "Extraordinary," all three co-produced with prestigious international production companies.
Mediacrest already made headlines in 2020’s edition after winning SGAE’s pitch for their project "Demokracia" by screenwriters Rodrigo Martín and Pedro García Ríos.
