MEDIACREST continues to grow with the incorporation of high-level professionals. In addition to the Fiction and Entertainment departments, we now have a Documentary department. At the head of this new department of high-quality content development, will be Gerardo Olivares, an award-winning professional with a lengthy career.

His career as a filmmaker began in the documentary genre. For 15 years, he has travelled to more than 100 countries shooting documentaries that have been acquired by major international television networks.

Among his work, the Netflix documentary "Dos Cataluñas", for which he was co-director, co-writer and co-producer, stands out. Additionally, the film "14 kilometres" became the first Spanish film to win the Espiga de Oro (Golden Spike) of the International Film Week of Valladolid (SEMINCI), and "Among Wolves", was a blockbuster in Spain in 2010.

When talking about this new stage in his professional career, Gerardo Olivares declares that he faces it "with great enthusiasm" and that his biggest goal is "to make Mediacrest a reference in the documentary genre with products for the general public and with a very high-quality production". Therefore, Olivares is in charge of this department so that MEDIACREST can tell "stories that excite, entertain, interest and somehow shake up the audience".
