RTVE, Mediacrest and Mediacrest El Clásico AIE, have begun filming "Asuntos Internos" in Madrid, a new police drama series on Spain’s public TV network. Directed by María Togores and Samantha López Speranza, and created by Pedro García Ríos and Rodrigo Martín Antoranz, "Asuntos Internos" is a six-episode thriller that blends drama, mystery, suspense, grit and action. Taking place in a working-class neighborhood police station, the story unfolds during a critical and transformative period in Spanish society during the late 70s and early 80s.

The production boasts a stellar cast: Laia Manzanares, Silvia Abascal, Nacho Fresneda, Luis Callejo, Carla Campra, Marta Poveda, Miki Esparbé, Jorge de Juan, Nico Romero, Josema Pichardo and Josean Bengoetxea, among others.

1979. As a member of Spain’s first group of female police officers, Clara Montesinos (Laia Manzanares) is assigned to a police station where her arrival will impact the lives of our protagonists and the entire neighborhood. The young policewoman will soon learn that being a cop is far harder than she had imagined, especially at this particular posting.

Clara is determined to clean up the neighborhood... and that’s not all. During her struggle, she will find unexpected allies who must also grab the bull by the horns to get ahead: Ana (Silvia Abascal) a wealthy mother whose daughter succumbs to drug addiction and Berta (Marta Poveda), her maid, who must take charge of her own life and that of her family to escape her grim situation. Spurred on by their own sense of grit and determination, all three women must face their overwhelming challenges head-on.

In their fight against crime, they’ll come up against unexpected enemies, surprising friends, double dealings, while being forced to make decisions that put their principles to the test and their lives on the line.

"Asuntos Internos" is set against a police backdrop but is ultimately a story of what drives its characters from the inside and the challenges they must overcome in their own lives.
