ViacomCBS International Studios and the Spanish audiovisual producer and content distributor, Mediacrest, have reached an agreement for the co-development of the reality TV show “Stranded with a million dollars” for Spain. The format will be adapted for the Spanish market, after enjoying huge success in the US and Latin America.

The show will be directed by Hugo Tomás, head of Mediacrest’s entertainment department, who, besides directing programmes like “Masterchef”, “Maestros de la Costura” and “Survivor. Lost in Honduras”, is responsible for directing Spain’s biggest television success in recent years, “La isla de las tentaciones”. Hugo Tomás will work alongside the development team at ViacomCBS International Studios for the local adaptation of the format.

MTV’s reality series “Stranded with a million dollars” brings together ten adventurers on a desert island with nothing more than the clothes on their backs and a million dollars. Those that survive 40 days of high-stress situations and gruelling psychological challenges get to split the leftover cash. Throughout the show the group can agree to use some of the money to make their stay more enjoyable, but the prices are set by the organisation… In the meantime, friendships, rivalries and even love stories unfold before the camera.
